“When I was in Germany I took part in a few business meetings in order to either acquire new clients or consolidate the ones we already had. I realized it was much harder to build a comfortable atmosphere with new clients prior to discussing business matters. Most of the time they liked to go straight to the point and leave small talk for later. Once they had made sure we could do business together, they would open up a bit and act in a more friendly way.”
