“While working in England, on several occasions there were some humorous instances with language. Although everybody’s first language was English, there were cultural differences with regard to how certain words were used, whether certain words had a positive or negative connotation or whether a word was a slang term for something inappropriate. Also, often times common objects (household items or office furniture/supplies, for example) had completely different names in the U.K. as they do in the U.S.A.”
